“I’ve been filming since 2008, professionally since 2013. I’ve been shooting one-minute videos on my mobile phone since about 2017, however, there was no iPhone back then and therefore there were difficulties in creating content. I shot footage of argali with a Dji Mavic 2 drone. The most expensive part of filming – this is, of course, the equipment we received to film footage on the territory of the reserve. special permission“, he noted.

Now together with family Batyrzhan is traveling and collecting footage for a documentary. The family has been on the road for more than 80 days, and during this time they have already collected a lot of material.

Karatau Nature Reserve is a protected natural area in the Turkestan region. The zone was recognized as a protected area in 2004. The reserve preserves the unique ecosystems of the Karatau mountain range, which is part of the Tien Shan. It covers an area of ​​about 34 thousand hectares and is known for its biological diversity and rare endemic species of flora and fauna.

Karatau is home to more than 700 plant species, of which about 60 are endemic, found only in this region. It is home to rare and endangered animal species such as the Karatau argali (wild sheep), bears, mountain goats and a variety of birds of prey, including rare species of eagles and hawks.

The Karatau range is distinguished by harsh mountain landscapes with steep cliffs and gorges, as well as a semi-desert climate, which creates special conditions for the life of endemic species. This reserve attracts the attention of ecologists and biologists, as it allows them to study and protect the unique natural communities formed in the mountain ecosystem of the Turkestan region.
