#FEYB04: MATCH DATA
Feyenoord and Bayer 04 have only met competitively in the 1987/88 UEFA Cup. Leverkusen won the round of 16 3-2 on aggregate after two legs and went on to become champions.
The match is now being played at Feyenoord’s legendary stadium, also known as De Kuip (meaning “the bathtub” due to the steep pitch of the roof). It is the second-largest stadium in the Netherlands and holds the record for the number of European Cup finals played there. Until the introduction of the UEFA Champions League, a total of nine finals were played at this stadium. The last final to be played at De Kuip to date was the 2023 UEFA Nations League final.
The winner of the Super Cup will face the winner of the Super Cup: Like the Werkself, Feyenoord have already won a title in the still young season. The Dutch runners-up and cup winners beat the champions, PSV Eindhoven, in a penalty shoot-out (8-6).
FEYENOORD UNDER THE MAGNIFYING GLASS
Along with Ajax Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord Rotterdam have been one of the top three teams in Dutch football for many years. After winning the 16th title in the club’s history in the 2022/23 season, Feyenoord finished runners-up last season. Feyenoord are now competing in the Champions League for the seventh time in their history. In the Eredivisie, Feyenoord are still unbeaten after four games and have not lost any of their last 24 games, counting last season. However, they have only won one and drawn three so far this season. The Rotterdam team is in sixth place in the table. Find out more about today’s opponents in the detailed analysis of the opponent.
2,500 FANS IN ROTTERDAM
Xabi Alonso’s men will be accompanied in Rotterdam by 2,500 fans. Bayer 04 also asks all fans to behave sensibly in the run-up to the match in order to avoid any conflict.

SILBORATE MASS
UEFA has appointed Davide Massa for the match in Rotterdam. The 43-year-old Italian has refereed three official Werkself matches (one win, one draw and one defeat). Massa will be assisted on the touchline today by his compatriots Filippo Meli and Stefano Alassio, while Aleandro Di Paolo will act as VAR.
