A festival for people over 50 years of age will be held in Burgas – 2024-09-11 11:47:46

Spectacular opening with a parade of all participants, a rich program of seminars, educational and health forums, city performances, over 15 closed and open workshops distributed in eight locations in the city / Summer Theater, CC “Sea Casino”, the designated activity area in front of the -l Primorets, “Flora” swimming complex, North Beach and Lake Park/ become the stage for 1414 participants, divided into 85 formations representing 19 countries.

Burgas won the prestigious hosting of the 9th edition of the European Gymnastics Festival for people over fifty: Golden Age Gym Festival in 2022, which was held on the island of Madeira, Spain. The event is spectacular in its scale and will contribute to the popularization of the city as a sports, cultural and tourist destination.

In addition to Bulgaria, participants in the format arrive from Azerbaijan, Greece, the Czech Republic, Germany, Estonia, France, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Switzerland, Slovakia, and outside continental Japan. Norway’s group with an impressive number of 300 veteran athletes is the most active.

Various workshops will be organized from Monday /September 23/ to Friday /September 27/. They will be varied with topics such as the Pilates method, aqua gymnastics, Bulgarian folk dances, games. Tai Chi, bachata, tango, beach tennis, yoga, salsa, acrobatics, rhythmic gymnastics and stretching. Ensembles will also present their performances to an audience on purpose-built additional stages meeting the requirements listed in the GAGF Rules, i.e. They will have an area of ​​20 mx 20 m and a smaller one with a performance area of ​​13 mx 17 m and will be positioned in front of the “Sea Casino” shopping center and Summer Theater – Burgas.

The maximum time for each performance will be 6 minutes (including site preparation and entrance and exit). Bands will be composed of a minimum of 6 active performers, with each band having the opportunity to perform twice during the week. There will be changing rooms at all sites.

The rich program also includes a health forum on the topic: “Balance, health and an independent lifestyle in the Golden Age”. It will be held at the Morsko Casino Center on September 25 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Participants in the forum will learn about the role of meaningful activities to strengthen and protect health. A conceptual framework of an occupational therapy program specially developed in Burgas region will be presented on site.

Within the one-week program, the practice of paneurythmy (a system of gymnastic-musical exercises) will be presented.

The purpose of paneurthymia is to improve and maintain health and to stimulate the harmonious development of the personality, human abilities, emotions and attitude to life of the individual, by achieving harmony with nature. Moderators: Ph.D. Prof. Dr. Zlatka Dimitrova – University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”, Associate Professor Prof. Dr. Petya Stefanova – University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”.

The 1st Golden Age Gym Festival took place in 2008 in Maspalomas, Canary Islands (Spain). Followed by households of Portimão, Portugal, Montecatini, Italy; Toulouse, France; Portorož, Slovenia; Pesaro Italy, Rethymno, Greece. At the festival in Madeira, Spain in 2022, Bulgaria will host in the city of Burgas.

The organizers of the event are the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and the Municipality of Burgas.

Golden Age Gym Festival is the most anticipated event of the year for many veteran gymnasts who travel for a sunny week of seminars, city performances, cultural activities with a focus on movement and health.

This event for people over 50 offers an opportunity for all participants to improve their abilities, discover new cultures and create interesting friendships.
