A feeling

We Argentines feel special. Perhaps the same thing happens to the inhabitants of all countries. But even in that framework, Argentines feel special. It’s not bad at all, quite the opposite. Maybe it’s more egocentrism than anything else. But it is preferable that we feel special than the opposite.

That being said, and since we are in an election year, my best advice is to focus less on how we feel and more on the results. This year each side will try to highlight the bad of others and the good of their own. But we will not be dazzled by that pyrotechnics.

The point is that, although we feel special, we live badly. Millions of Argentines have a horrible time. Those who have a less bad time, do not know when they will start to have a worse time, instead of dreaming of prospering. In addition, we always remain on the eve of a perfect storm. With his heart in his mouth and on the warpath. Rebels, of course, but against the ropes. Wayward, but even thinking of abandoning our own national currency. I don’t know. Maybe we should start voting more with all that self-esteem we waste. And start once and for all to be what we feel we are.
