A fatwa is not removed from those with beards, even if they are the imam of the mosque • Newspaper Al-Marsad

Al-Marsad Newspaper: The director of the Fatwa General Department at the General Presidency for Academic Research and Ifta, Walid Al-Saadoun, said that a fatwa is only taken by his own people and that a Muslim is not allowed to take a fatwa from the mosque imam or others unless this imam is a scholar and is authorized by the fatwa.

Al-Saadoun indicated, during a phone call to the “Al-Ikhbaria” channel, “The catastrophe in which many people fall is that anyone who finds a person with a beard asks for a fatwa, and this is not true”, observing: “Now we are facing many problems. .

He continued: “The matter which is known only to His Eminence the Mufti, some imams and sheikhs issue fatwas, this is a very dangerous thing.”

And he continued: “Do not get acquainted except from his people, and if you take the fatwa from one who has a beard and you know that he is gracious and that he does not know it, then you do not absolve yourself of your responsibility in it.”
