In the United States, each state is free to apply or not the wearing of a compulsory mask at school, to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. As Texas just lifted the obligation, James Akers, a father, stripped naked during a board meeting at the Dripping Springs Independent School District to demand that it be reinstated, reported the Huffington Post, Thursday August 26.

After presenting some figures and facts about the masks, he continued: “I don’t like the government, or any other entity, telling me what to do”. Then, explaining that he had to wear a jacket for his job when he hated it, he took it off. Same thing with his shirt, his pants … until finding himself in his underwear in front of the members of the council.
“We follow certain rules for a very good reason”
During his speech, he also referred to the rules related to road safety or to the respect of places for the disabled. Then, before getting dressed, he then concluded: “We follow certain rules for a very good reason.”
This scene was filmed and posted on social media, sparking many reactions. Contacted by the local radio station KXAN, this father explained: “There are too many voices which, in my opinion, are divided for political reasons and absolutely do not think of common sense decisions”.
No measures concerning the wearing of masks in schools were taken at the end of this board of directors. However, as reported by the local newspaper Star-Telegram, some schools in the district are reportedly considering reinstalling the mandatory masks.
