Last day in Riga, 260 new infections were registered, and in total at least 2,101 people have contracted Covid-19 in the capital in the last 14 days. 86 new cases have been registered in Daugavpils, and the total number of infected persons in the last two weeks has reached 552 people.
A rapid increase in the number of cases has been registered in Salacgriva region – 32 new cases or more than half of the 53 infected persons registered in the last 14 days were detected there during the last day. In the adjacent Limbaži region, 17 new infected people were discovered, the total number of cases in the last two weeks growing to 65 inhabitants.

Of the new cases registered in the previous day, 197 are aged 50 to 59, 111 are aged 30 to 39, 82 are aged 60 to 69, but there are fewer patients in other age groups.

In the last seven days, the SPKC has estimated that the proportion of positive tests is 6.6%, but compared to 5.8% a week ago, while the intensity of the increase in morbidity has decreased over the last seven days.
