Former hockey player of the Russian clubs “Mechel” (Chelyabinsk), “Chelmet” and “Slavutich” (Smolensk) Alexander Podstavkin died on war in Ukraine.
It is reported that on October 23, the athlete received a summons and decided not to hide from mobilization. On December 8, he was in Rostov, after which he, along with other invaders, was sent to Ukraine.
On the territory of our country, Podstavkin quickly met his death, not having lasted even a month. On December 28, Podstavkin’s unit came under shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a result of which the hockey player was also eliminated.
Note that Podstavkin was the silver medalist of the championship of the National Youth Hockey League of the Russian Federation.
Recall that earlier summons to the war against Ukraine also received Russian figure skaters Dmitry Aliev and Makar Ignatov, as well as former midfielder of the Russian national football team Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.
