A false case was opened against the head of the Kazakh community in Moscow

A criminal case was opened against Polat Jamalov, head of the Kazakh community in Moscow, on the charge of spreading false information about the Russian army.

“Verstka” publication informs that the case was opened in September of last year by the investigation department of particularly important cases of the North-Eastern District of Moscow.

The reason for this was Jamalov’s Facebook post stating that approximately 49,000 Russian servicemen had died in Ukraine by mid-August 2022. It is known that the Russian Ministry of Defense does not disclose the number of casualties.

The media also notes that during mass protests and riots in Kazakhstan in January 2022, Jamalov called the entry of Russian troops into the country an invasion.

According to the alleged article, Jamalov faces up to 15 years in prison. According to information obtained by SIA from Russian websites, Russian courts recognize any criticism of the invasion of Ukraine as a hoax about the military.
