Now in Latvia it will also be possible to recycle polystyrene, which we see everyday in yogurt containers, children’s toys, dishes and lamp elements. It will also be possible to recycle ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin) and its compositions, that is, plastic that is widely used in the production of car parts and interior elements – panels, shields, window frames, mirror housings and many others. This plastic is also common in the production of electronic device housings, as well as in the textile and construction industries.

AS “CleanR Grupa” board member Guntars Levits informs: “Now we can provide the entire cycle to give plastic a second life. From collection to recycled product – granules and flakes, which turn into everyday things – electronic equipment housings, packaging, interior in the elements, even in clothing and fashion accessories. This is how we see that once used is a resource that we can give a second life to, not waste.”

The “CleanR” plastic processing plant is equipped with technologies that will allow the production of up to 1000 tons of granules and flakes per month. Almost 100% of them are exported.

Elita Baklāne-Ansberga, Director General of the State Environmental Service, informs that the service has carried out inspections and coordination both before the start of construction of the plant, during its construction, as well as after commissioning.

“CleanR Group” has invested 5.4 million euros in the construction and equipment of the plastic processing plant, of which 1.26 million euros are co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union, 65% are the company’s investments. The construction of the factory was started in 2022.

In January 2023, “CleanR Group” also opened a separately collected waste sorting center. There, the plastic is received and sorted before it goes to the factory for recycling.

The “CleanR” plastic processing plant specializes in the processing of LDPE, HDPE and PP, i.e. food, agricultural, construction material packaging, as well as materials for the road transport industry. These are various bags, fruit boxes, “big-bag” bags, hygiene and household chemical packaging, barrels and plastic elements of cars.

The real beneficiary of AS “CleanR Grupa” is Guntars Kokorevičs, according to the information available to “Lursoft”.
