A € 17 billion chip plant will be built in Germany. It will be built by Intel

Intel also said it would strengthen its existing plant in Ireland, while setting up a research and design center in France. In Italy, the chip manufacturer may set up an assembly and assembly plant. The company will also invest in research and production in Poland and Spain, she said in a press release.

The initial investment of 33 billion euros, which includes 17 billion euros in the Magdeburg complex, is to help meet the growing demand for chips used in computers, cars, smartphones and other devices. Their goal is to reduce Europe’s dependence on Asian suppliers in the long term.

Intel will build two factories in Magdeburg, where it will create 7,000 jobs on the construction site, 3,000 permanent jobs in the company and another tens of thousands of jobs at suppliers and partners, the company said.

It is investing another 12 billion euros in its Irish plant, bringing the company’s total investment in Ireland to more than 30 billion euros. Intel is also negotiating with Italy to build a production facility with a possible investment of up to 4.5 billion euros. The start of operation is planned for the years 2025 to 2027.

In France, Intel intends to build its new European research center. Around 1,000 new high-tech jobs will be created there, Reuters reported.

Some EU countries, such as Italy, have sought various incentives for Intel’s investment. The distribution of factories in several countries could help the company obtain more subsidies from different countries.
