A duck named Wrinkle joined the 2021 NYC Marathon and (obviously) stole the show

New York City, United States attended the 50th Annual New York City Marathon on November 7. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the New York City Marathon for 2020 has been canceled and the 2021 edition saw a limited number of competitors – 33,000. Among the ambitious kicks there was one special entry that was possibly the first in New York City Marathon history. Among all the human runners there was a duck named ‘Wrinkle’ who stamped his foot with impeccable vigor and coordination like the other runners. And the best part, she even wears a pair of bright orange running shoes for her webbed feet.

Several videos from different angles surfaced after the race and instantly grabbed the attention of netizens and ultimately won their hearts. In one clip, Wrinkle is seen playing charlatan and racing against his opponents. Looks like she’s comforting herself along the way. Loud cheers from passers-by can also be heard in the background.

In another clip shared by Barstool Sports, Wrinkle is seen running with her “dad” leading her down the path. In the caption, Barstool Sports wrote, “This duck dominated the 2021 NYC Marathon.” Since being shared, the video has been viewed by over 35 lakh people and garnered almost two lakh likes.

Wrinkle the duck has crossed social media platforms and has also gone viral on Twitter. A clip was shared by ABC Sport and contains a teasing caption that reads, “What’s your excuse? (Seriously, do you have any?)

The duck considered is not ordinary. Well, it’s already established, but wait! Wrinklethe duck is almost a local celebrity with a full-fledged Instagram page with over 53,000 followers. Wrinkle’s biography calls him “The Time Travel Duck”.

Wrinkle also shared the feat she achieved on her Instagram account. The caption of the video read, “I ran the New York Marathon! I will be even better next year. Thanks to all the humans who encouraged me.
