a drug trafficking organized on Snapchat dismantled by the police

In the age of social networks, dealers redouble their inventiveness to sell their products. A network which organized “large-scale” trafficking in cannabis herb and cocaine sold on Snapchat has just been dismantled in Toulouse. The two main suspected members of this traffic were imprisoned on Tuesday, September 21, the prosecution said.

According to the Toulouse prosecutor, four other people suspected of playing a less important role in the network were also arrested. During searches, the police “discovered a large quantity of cash and effects usually reserved for the police (‘police’ armbands, flashing light, balaclavas, handcuffs, handgun cases, …) and narcotics“, he specifies.

A drug promoter, a dealer and delivery men: a perfectly oiled organization

Herbal cannabis and cocaine were sold on Snapchat by the prime suspect who “was also involved in promoting the products for sale.” Then, “a lieutenant who kept the products at his home, delivered the goods to customers by order of the organizer and determined the delivery sectors for the couriers employed by the networks”.

“Several other people worked as delivery men for the network, including at least one minor,” says the prosecutor. The main suspect had “already been involved in drug trafficking on two occasions, in 2013 and in 2016”.

He “used to travel in luxury vehicles, unrelated to the official income that brought him his activity as a trader”.
