As the newspaper writes, yesterday they pulled out most of the wreckage of the fallen drone. The Croatian Defense Minister confirmed that traces of explosives and parts of a Soviet-made aerial bomb were found at the crash site, which indicate that it was not a reconnaissance aircraft.
At the same time, HRT sources specified that the bomb that was on board the drone exploded underground. According to the publication, if the crash had not been on soft ground, but on concrete or asphalt, the consequences would have been catastrophic.
Croatian authorities continue to investigate the incident, determine the type of bomb and its purpose.
It is also not yet known from whose territory the drone arrived – from Russian or Ukrainian. Croatia, together with NATO allies, is establishing who exactly launched it and for what purpose through radar images and data in electronic systems.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic yesterday also commented drone crash in Zagreb, criticizing the NATO response to the threat as insufficient.
In a message to Twitter he noted that he had discussed the situation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and asked the Alliance to establish all the facts regarding the incident.
