A draconian rise in cemeteries. Flowers even twice as expensive

The owners of small shops and stalls in front of necropolises do not have the opportunity to compete with supermarkets that offer a huge increase on candles, bouquets and flowers in pots. However, they don’t even try to encourage customers to choose to buy from them. Prices at cemeteries are almost always higher than in supermarkets, but what happens before All Saints Day is beyond anyone’s understanding. Two weeks before November 1, we went to the Junikowski cemetery in Poznań. We researched the prices of candles, flowers and bouquets. Today (October 31), after just two weeks, many of these prices are no longer valid. Some of them are absurdly high.

Things that could stand longer and not decay, including: conifer branches and heather, the price did not go up. Just like candles, and the prices are the same as two weeks ago. However, it is clear that the most popular ones are more expensive. On October 16, chrysanthemums cost PLN 5-6. Now they cost PLN 12-14. That’s twice as much! Blooming flowers in a large pot now cost around PLN 50 instead of PLN 30. There is also a huge increase in the prices of artificial bouquets, which are popular because of their durability. One that cost PLN 45 two weeks ago now costs PLN 70, and at some stalls even PLN 95!
