A. Donchev: A nation that feels threatened gives birth to its best sons and daughters –

/ world today news/ All times are separate, and ours goes a little beyond…
But, unfortunately, we are a gulf in the world ocean.
The height of the water in Bulgaria depends on the height of the water in the ocean. The ocean is rebelling right now.

In fact, if we are to speak biblically, the time of Armageddon has come – the dire prediction that kings from the farthest places will meet. And on top of that, they meet in the same place where the prophecy places Armageddon. This is where, according to the Bible, armies gather for battle.

The situation depends on the general will of the people, of those who are called humanity.

It is known where the wound is. It is not treated quickly enough and decisively enough.

How do things resonate with us? Do you know how the tides come in the fjords? On the coast, 1-2 meters of waves are raised, and in the fjord – 7-8- 10-15 meters. We are a fjord, with us the waves echo. With us, globalization is not like people, nor our economy, and education is not in order…

They ask me – are we mobilizing at this moment? We have to show if we are mobilizing.

The problem with the leaders of the people is as complex as it is simple. Leaders are not born, they are made. First, they are created by themselves as individuals, and secondly, they are created by the nation, the need to exist.

The shepherd does not lead the flock by standing before it. He leads the flock before him. If you go ahead of the sheep, they will not follow you. But the leader sees how the flock “flows”, as the water flows, as the river flows. And he is, in fact, paving the way. But a path that has already been chosen.

And we did not choose our path.

We are entering an incredible battle. And half of our army is gone.

2 million people – smart, good, hardworking Bulgarians are out. They are not in Bulgaria. The good thing is that these fellow citizens of ours abroad are organizing – something I did not expect. They made schools for themselves – collected their children, paid their teachers. We are one hearth that threw sparks and they lit new fires, albeit smaller ones.

I go to the meetings of our media abroad. We have about a dozen newspapers in the USA, we have television, we have magnificent newspapers in Spain, with larger circulations than the newspapers in Bulgaria. We did 14-15 schools in England…

And most importantly, in this hall, turn around and look back at these people. I have met them several times already. They are, not to say new people, but they show traits that we thought the nation had lost. But, in fact, the fire is burning. It may not burn in a well-fenced hearth, but it burns!

I will also tell you something that is not much to talk about. I wrote in my novel “A Tale of the Time of Samuel” that when Bulgaria begins to die, well, it doesn’t die, but incredible troubles happen to it… Well, then the sons can’t wear the shirts of their fathers, because they grew up with a span taller than them. The nation, which at the moment feels threatened, begins to give birth to its best sons and daughters. Oak trees, when a terrible winter comes, even when an earthquake or a flood is imminent, give birth to three times more acorns.

This beauty of Bulgarian children scares me. Doesn’t this show that our nation just needs to be scared that something bad is coming? And that she gives birth to her best sons to bring them into battle? This makes me happy to some extent.

But we have to realize it – that our nation, our people somehow responded to the threat with their security, with their freedom, with their values and gave birth to these wonderful children.

We have to appreciate it.
