1. Brush your dog regularly, preferably outside. A lot of hair and skin flakes come off as a result. Some dogs even like it when you clean them with the vacuum cleaner.

2. You can teach a dog to shake itself well before taking it inside. You do this by praising and rewarding him extensively when he does it on his own and by attaching a command to it. Hold on for a while.

3. Put a towel by the front door to wipe mud feet.

4. Wash rugs, baskets and toys regularly to avoid typical doggy odors in the house. Can the four-legged friend sit on the couch? Then point to a spot and put a rug there.

5. Fleas are not always preventable, but regular vacuuming of the dog bed and floor helps to remove eggs and larvae. Preferably empty the dust container outside. If the vacuum cleaner works with a vacuum cleaner bag, put a flea collar in it. Any fleas are immediately eradicated and do not get a chance to reproduce in the bag.
