Al-Marsad newspaper: Dr. Freya Ramzy explained to the patient the reasons for the recurrence of breast cancer after treatment.
During an interview with MBC, he said that the return of the disease depends on several factors, including the size of the mass at diagnosis, and in the advanced stages, the armpits can be infected, as well as the degree of virulence of the disease.
And he continued, with advanced treatments, it is possible that advanced or aggressive cancers need more treatments, and the cure rate is high and the disease recurrence rate is not high.
She stressed that the incidence of breast cancer is not limited to women only, but also includes men, albeit in a rare proportion: for every thousand cases of cancer one is in men, noting that men have a mammary gland.
He pointed out that there are risk factors behind breast cancer in men, including liver cirrhosis, the use of estrogen to treat prostate disease, testicular cancers, and radiation exposure.
