You may have heard the following joke: I’m on a whiskey diet, I’ve lost fourteen days now. But like most jokes, there’s a bit of truth in this one. Because although quitting alcohol is often the first thing recommended for people who want to lose weight, there are exceptions.
Moreover, giving up alcohol completely, especially in the longer term, appears to be a difficult task for many people. There are of course more different types of drinks than there are types of fruit and vegetables. We also know that a banana contains completely different substances than an apple.
For example, one drink is healthier and lower in calories than the other. First of all, whiskey contains much fewer calories than beer, wine, mixed drinks or a liqueur such as Jägermeister. This often saves half the calories. So a bottle of whiskey instead of a case of beer already helps reduce calorie intake. In addition, whiskey has no added sugars, so the calories come purely from alcohol.
Bloated organs
The beer belly phenomenon rightly has a reference to beer. If you count the calories in special beer, you will soon understand why it is so easy to gain weight. But regular beer also contains a lot of calories. Beer, and especially the carbon dioxide in it, causes bloated organs that quickly make you look fatter. In addition, it contains a female hormone, estrogen. Because this is the counterpart of testosterone, which promotes both muscle building and strength and that muscle mass and exercise are good for losing weight. Another good reason to skip beer. Whiskey itself produces energy in small amounts, which can make some men aggressive. At the same time, the need for sugars is often reduced by the liquid gold. Unlike beer, with whiskey you will not need a greasy bite as quickly.
To make it sound even healthier, whiskey also contains antioxidants, which in turn drive off harmful substances. Now red wine is also known for antioxidants, a little less than whiskey. People like to conclude that a bottle is even healthier than a glass of red wine. Unfortunately, that myth does not hold true, not even for whisky. A person does not always have to make it difficult for himself with impossible diets. However, to switch to whiskey during a diet, in not too large quantities, a quick effect can be expected, given the above facts. Of course it is advisable to keep drinking to a limited extent to make the whiskey diet succeed.
I myself lost five kilos in two months at the end of last year by drinking whiskey instead of beer and special beer. So cheers, to losing weight
