Boyka Trifonova – a desperate Bulgarian mother, whose son has been a “hostage” of the covid pandemic in faraway Vietnam for a month, turned via Facebook to all institutions and people who can help her boy return home.
Here is what the psychologist and businesswoman wrote on the social network:
“Are there any mothers on this Facebook? My son has been locked up in his apartment in the city of Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam for a whole month now. He is not allowed to go out. to buy food!
Do you think he was arrested? That he is being investigated for a particularly dangerous crime and is under house arrest, with a court verdict ?! No! He did nothing! Except that he is in a country that has locked every resident in his home for fear of Kovid!
Exactly how big is the infection in Vietnam at the moment? Out of 95,000,000 inhabitants, 5,000 died. Yes! Five thousand out of ninety-five million! However, this is considered to be a sufficient reason for my son to be locked in his apartment for a month on bread and water !!! It’s as if he personally killed each of those five thousand.
I’m not kidding with that! I am writing this post with blood and tears! How will you feel if you are the mother of a son locked in his house, who is given notes under the door when he has the right to buy bread ?!
… And worse! Vietnam closes its airports to foreign airlines. Turkish Airlines has already been banned from landing. They have banned the Emirates. At the moment, they allow only Qatar at their own discretion – and on completely random dates. In other words, they will ban you from leaving Vietnam for days, even if you are a foreigner. Not only are you locked in your home!
I have a serious fear that my son will not be able to return to Bulgaria! Like all other Bulgarians in Vietnam. I go crazy just at the thought that they are giving him notes under the door, and that even if he can’t go home – this is already making me go crazy !!!
If Vietnam stops flights because of five thousand deaths in a population of ninety-five million – THE WORLD WILL TURN !!!!! I want my wonderful Bulgarian son in our country! Alive, well and free! FREE !!!!

She clarified that her son Victor was imprisoned in Tao Dien Masteri, in one of the skyscrapers. “There is hope for a flight within a month. I hope it will happen. Last year Russia closed airports for all flights for six months. Now they will do the same. How can they keep people as prisoners without trial and without crime ??? she wonders.
