Reopening of restaurants soon?

The designer decorator, Christophe Gernigon has created a device which makes it possible to go to the restaurant in these times of crisis. Nicknamed Plex’Eat, it is large plexiglass visors that surrounds the client’s head. Protected from others, the client respects the social distancing while enjoying his meal in all serenity.

With this bell shape, the device in plexiglass is hung from the ceiling and has a rear opening. This opening makes it possible not to feel enclosed or oppressed. Even if the friendliness is in order, he will surely have to raise his voice to chat with his guests! It’s a certainty, restaurants are going to tear off this product.

A concept for restaurants

The idea was born after the discovery of a concept store in Asia. It is a bell placed above the head to listen to music without headphones or earphones. Christophe Gernigon was inspired by this product to help professionals to reopen their restaurants during the deconfinement.

The artist explains his project on CNews : “I was worried about the restaurateurs. I then thought of a device that would allow us to find conviviality around a table but without taking any risks ”. Even if the idea is innovative and interesting in current circumstances, it remains for the moment only at the stage of project. An industrialist would however have contacted the designer to market his product.
