151 years after the death of Vasil Levski, historians still have many unsolved questions. Where is Levski’s grave, where exactly was his native house in Karlovo. The year of his birth is still disputed. The answers to these questions are also sought by the living successors of the Apostle. One of them is Hristina Bogdanova.

“For me, it is important to preserve the ancestral memory, as it was handed down by the previous relatives of the Apostle. The stories that are preserved in the family contain a lot of information about the atmosphere in the family, about relationships. About the values in which parents raised their children. These are touches that help us to touch the human diversity of Levski”, said Bogdanova.
She specified that Vasil Levski is a rich person, but honesty, courage and the courage to make choices and stand up for them are some of the most valuable things she tries to learn from him.
According to her, the story of the love between Levski and Yova is a legend preserved by the Voynyagovtsi. “It is said that while he was a daskal in the settlement, he developed a crush on Jova, the most private girl in the village. The period of Vasil Levski in the settlement is very significant. He inspired his students, he taught them to be strong both in spirit and in body”, added Hristina Bogdanova.
