DUBAI, 10th March, 2020 (WAM) — A delegation from the European Road Police Organization “Roadpol” visited Dubai Police. During the visit, they discussed means of cooperation and joint coordination, in addition to discussing issues related to traffic projects.
The delegation was received by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, in the presence of his deputy, Brigadier General Juma Salem bin Suwaidan.
Major General Saif Al Mazrouei welcomed the guest delegation, stressing the importance of consolidating cooperation relations and exchanging experiences and visits between the two sides.
Major General Saif Al Mazrouei gave an overview of the tasks and duties carried out by the General Traffic Department in maintaining road security, reducing the number of accidents and road deaths, imposing a law that maintains stability, and simplifies security among people, in addition to the role that Dubai Police plays in maintaining security and order. , and what is available to them of qualified human resources with high efficiency, and modern equipment and technologies.
After the meeting, Brigadier General Juma bin Suwaidan accompanied the guest delegation on a tour to the operations room of the General Traffic Department, where they listened to an explanation from Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Rahman Obaid Al Falasi, Director of the Administrative Affairs Department, and Lieutenant Colonel Maher Abdullah bin Haider, Acting Director of the Traffic Technologies Department, about smart control systems in the Department. Traffic in the emirate, through technical control systems (RMS), through which the operational efficiency of all technical control systems can be monitored, such as the locations of radar devices and the daily rates of device settings, in addition to identifying the state of traffic roads in terms of traffic congestion and vehicle density.
The delegation was also briefed on the smart detection cameras that are used to adapt and adjust some traffic violations automatically so that they recognize some of the entered data, edit the violation and send it to the traffic control unit, as well as vehicle control and tracking systems that are characterized by tracking the crossing places of traffic or criminally required vehicles, and investigating violations. traffic violations, the time of its commission, and identifying the violating driver, as well as processing and issuing violations of vehicles not adhering to the mandatory and technically accurate lane on them through the operations room.
Finally, he looked at the process of receiving and following up communications received from the public by the workers in the We Are All Police program, the methods of dealing with them, and the classification of violations.
The delegation concluded its visit by inspecting the Campaigns and Traffic Awareness Department, where it heard from Colonel Salah Abdullah Al Hammadi, Director of the Campaigns and Traffic Awareness Department, about the campaign programs and activities supervised by the General Traffic Department, in addition to its role in spreading awareness and traffic culture among the various groups of society.
At the end of the visit, the guest delegation expressed its great admiration for the professionalism and renewed expertise witnessed by the General Traffic Department in the traffic field, and its keeping pace with scientific developments and harnessing the latest technological technologies to establish security and safety on the roads of the emirate, wishing its journey to continue to be distinguished and pioneer locally and globally.
