A deer photographed on the dune of Pilat in full containment

A deer was seen on the morning of Sunday, November 29 on the dune of Pilat (Gironde). He was photographed by a Toulouse resident living in La Teste-de-Buch, municipality where the dune is located, reports South West.

The 27-year-old wanted to take advantage of the first light of day to walk on the highest sand dune in Europe. He then saw from the top of the hill the silhouette of the deer and managed to immortalize it. The animal then descended towards the forest.

Fortuitous encounter

The Toulousain published his photo the next day on his Facebook page. The photo was taken Wednesday, December 2 by the Official page of the dune of Pilat, which gave some details on the roe deer. This unusual visitor would thus be more easily observable “At sunrise and sunset”.

The containment measures put in place to fight the spread of Covid-19 also had to play a role. “I often come to the dune, which is normally very busy. This is the first time that i see this “, thus testifies the photographer, according to remarks reported by our colleagues.
