HAAG/STEYR. 10-year-old Clemens Karlsberger from Steyr gave his name to a fallow deer in Haag Zoo.
“It would be my great wish to be the namesake of a meerkat or a raccoon,” Clemens told his parents. Because this was not currently possible in the zoo in Haag, the parents chose a fallow deer for the naming. Clemens received this original present for his 10th birthday.
Clemens was accompanied by his parents and younger brother to the animal naming ceremony. The selected magnificent male fallow deer soon gained confidence, approached his godfather and enjoyed the pieces of food received.
Two “world champions” in the zoo
Clemens lives with his family in Gleink, where he plays football as a goalkeeper for Atsv Stein. As a name for the fallow deer, he chose an offensive artist, namely that of world champion Lionel Messi. By the way, Hirsch Messi is in good company in Hague. There is also a leopard named Griezmann, named after the 2018 French world champion Antoine Griezmann.
