A cousin of former Queen Margareta’s father has died.

The Court of Denmark has received sad news.
Son of Princess Dagmar Christian Castenskiold has died in the United States on July 16. He was 98 years old when he died. The matter was reported by Svensk Damtidning.
Dagmar was the sister of the late King Christian X of Denmark. Christian X ruled Denmark from 1912. In addition to that, he served as the king of Iceland from 1918 to 1944.
The Danish Lutheran Church in California announced Castenskiold’s death on its Facebook account. The church will hold a memorial service for Castenskiold on August 3.

Connection to Margareta
Castenskiold also had a connection with Denmark’s former Queen Margareta. Castenskiold was a cousin of Queen Margareta’s father, Frederick IX.
Castenskiold left Denmark in 1951 for the United States together with his wife Cecily Abbotsin and his daughter Alexandran with. He created a valuable career for himself in the aviation industry and as a director of Carlsberg.
