On Wednesday around 4:45 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on the RD 20, between Delme and Viviers. One kilometer after leaving Delme, a vehicle with two passengers on board left the road. The car, out of the driver’s control, rolled over before coming to rest on the roof across the ditch.
A major rescue system has been deployed, with firefighters coming from Delme and Château-Salins, reinforced by the Samu de Metz.
The two occupants of the vehicle, two sisters in their seventies, were prisoners of the passenger compartment. One, the driver, living in Oron, near Delme, was in cardio-respiratory arrest. The emergency services failed to bring her back to life.

Ongoing investigation
His passenger, from the Thionville area, was seriously injured. She was transported to the Mercy hospital in Metz. Wednesday evening, his vital prognosis was engaged.
The gendarmes of the community of brigades of Château-Salins were on site to regulate the traffic, which is dense at this time of day. They have also started to collect the first elements for their investigation, in order to determine the reasons for this accident.
To allow firefighters to intervene safely, traffic was cut in both directions. On site, the departmental road service repaired the roadway, once the victims and their vehicle had been evacuated.
