Nicholas Kehagias, an 81-year-old man, was found dead yesterday in a building with elevated levels of carbon monoxide in Queens (NYC).
Kehagias’s nephew called 911 at 12:07 p.m. because he smelled gas when he got to 54-19 Flushing Ave, a building in Maspeth that the victim used for storage and sometimes staying overnight.
When the officers arrived, they found Kehagias dead on a bed. The old man also owned another building across the street, a witness told Daily News. Authorities are investigating whether the origin of the carbon monoxide was accidental or caused.
