Price growth is slowing down slightly

Year-on-year consumer price inflation slowed for the seventh time in a row in February. Prices rose by 2.1 percent, while in January it was 2.2 percent. This follows from data published today by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO). In a month-on-month comparison, inflation rose by 0.2 percent, mainly due to transport prices.

According to Pavla Šedivá, head of the CZSO Consumer Price Statistics Department, the prices of clothing, footwear and household equipment had the greatest impact on the slowdown in year-on-year growth. On the contrary, alcohol and tobacco became more expensive than in January.

Tolls are collected more

Toll collection on Czech motorways and roads continues to grow, rising by 11.6 percent year-on-year to more than one billion crowns in February. This year’s growth was mainly due to the introduction of charges for traffic noise and air pollution.

Mandatory testing of officials

Today, antigenic testing of civil servants is being launched. Applies to offices with 50 or more employees. From March 17, their employees will not be able to do without a negative workplace test.

Lego is growing

During the pandemic, interest in Lego kits grew. Last year, the Danish manufacturer increased its operating profit by 19 percent to 45.5 billion crowns.

More aircraft are ordered

For the first time in more than a quarter of a year, Boeing’s number of new orders exceeded the number of canceled ones. In total, the company managed to win orders for 82 aircraft, while customers canceled orders for 51 machines.

Thanks to a significant increase in Tesla’s share price on Tuesday, Elon Musk wiped out part of this year’s losses. The value of his assets increased by $ 25 billion in a single day. However, he remains the second richest man on the planet after Jeff Bezos.
