The family lodging, managed by the Athenes association in Thionville, welcomes women, alone and with their children, who encounter social and personal difficulties. “70% of them are affected by domestic violence,” said Virginie Hary, deputy director of Athens.
On Wednesday March 8, International Day for Women’s Rights, the gîte will host a very special action carried out by the Thionville real estate network IAD. It is called “Les immos du cœur” and offers all women in difficulty, supported by the Athenes association in its various schemes (lodging, social hotel, emergency accommodation), a moment of well-being. For an afternoon, two hairdressers, two beauticians, a plantar reflexologist will offer their service.
Planned childcare
A team from the family gîte will set up a childcare system for the children of mothers who wish to take full advantage of this moment of relaxation.
The broadcast of a clip made with supervisors and residents is planned. Finally, a film-debate evening will be hosted by two educators around the film Women , directed by Anastasia Mikova and Yann Arthus-Bertrand. A documentary that pays tribute and portrays women around the world.
