This Sunday, August 22, the Lion d’Angers racecourse (Maine-et-Loire) will host its last Sunday race meeting of the year from 3:40 p.m. in the big ones to receive as well as possible an audience that she hopes will be numerous.
Placed under the theme of the reconversion of racehorses, the Société des Courses will offer during this day, in partnership with the association Beyond the Tracks, demonstrations, in career, of retired racehorses between the official races. A Beyond the Tracks stand will also provide a better understanding of the work carried out around the retraining of racehorses and a free raffle will be offered there.
In the same vein, the racecourse will welcome among its racing program, a
event entitled #RaceandCare Prize dedicated to equine well-being.
And besides …
The racecourse will offer the youngest pony baptisms and access to a
inflatable structure free of charge.
For older children, the Société des Courses du Lion d’Angers has planned, in collaboration with
Mets & Secrets, to open a tapas bar on the terrace with a view of the racetracks but
also the panoramic restaurant for lunch and dinner (reservation recommended by
telephone on 06 80 93 14 11).
Finally, the PMU will not be left out since it will offer an animation in the presence of the famous
obstacle jockey and PMU ambassador Jacques Ricou and many others …
A host of possibilities for a day which will be punctuated by 8 races (5 flat and 3
obstacles) all betting support at national stakes. Alain Peltier, President of the Société des Courses told us: “Through this Sunday day, we hope that everyone
world can find its account: whether you come with family or friends, our wish is to make you spend a day of relaxation in a green setting ”.
The well-being of horses, the priority of horse races …
With the #RaceandCare race, the Lion d’Angers racecourse is part of a dynamic
national promotion of actions around equine well-being in the sector.
Under the aegis of the National Federation of Horse Races, the sector wishes to show
that it does its utmost to ensure the well-being of its competitors, through a hashtag
common, the #RaceandCare.
Maxime Peltier, race commissioner and ambassador for equine welfare for the Society
of the Courses du Lion d’Angers explained: “All the work carried out on our tracks
races or our technical facilities aim to constantly improve the safety and well-being of our horses. The same applies to all operations carried out before, during and after a race. Through this #RaceandCare award, we want to clearly show our position vis-à-vis equine welfare. “
