Huge amounts of rain are expected to fall on the Southern Black Sea coast, Shabla, Dobrich and Kavarna, warns “Meteo Balkans”, and the agency informs about the danger of floods.
Are floods coming along the Southern Black Sea coast?
Significant precipitation is approaching the Southern Black Sea coast. According to the radar data, the rainfall has an intensity between 15-25 l/sq.m per hour.
In the next hours, the low pressure center near the Southern Black Sea coast will move west towards our country. We expect a convergent line to form and remain active in the coming hours.
Flooding is possible.
Will Dobrich, Shabla and Kavarna be under water?
Floods are possible in the area of Dobrich, Shabla and Kavarna. Precipitation in places exceeded 50-60 l/sq.m. Rain will continue through Sunday morning as the area continues to form new storms.
The causes of these rainfalls are an area of low atmospheric pressure located about 100 km southeast of Shabla.
In general, precipitation will shift again over the Black Sea, but will also cover the Southern Black Sea.
A lot also depends on the movement of the cyclone, and at this point the exact trajectory cannot be predicted.

Will the precipitation in Eastern Bulgaria be a nightmarish déjà vu?
BLITZ recalls that nearly a year ago, a fierce flood drowned Tsarevo, leaving the city.
The unprecedented water disaster took the lives of four people and caused damage of millions of levs. Bridges, roads and levees were destroyed, and beaches were washed away by torrential rains.
Cars and caravans parked in coastal areas also sank into the sea. Houses, hotels and public buildings were submerged by a giant tidal wave. Among the victims of the natural disaster were the president of the District Court in Tsarevo, Maria Moskova, and her daughter, Dr. Daniela Yordanova.
The two women died in the flood while trying to escape the disaster by car. Their car was swept away by a tidal wave at the height of the disaster, and rescue teams searched the sea for days for their bodies.
On the day of the disaster, a year later, their relatives will gather to honor their memory, and many of the local people will offer sacrifices and pray that the watery inferno will never happen again.
The damage to the road and bridge infrastructure was estimated at over 10 million BGN. But the municipality is still looking for additional funding from the state for the river gorge, writes BLITZ
