Billy Chemirmir, 49, will receive life in prison without the possibility of parole following the jury’s verdict, the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office reported on Twitter. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty for Chemirmir, it transpired.

According to the prosecutors in the case, Chemirmir would have been at the same Walmart as Harris, his victim, and went to his house; there, he murdered her and then stole her jewelry. Additionally, most of those victims were found in their community housing apartments, according to the AP.

It is not the first trial that Chemirmir faces. In November 2021, a judge had to declare the then mistrial, because the jury could not reach a final verdict in Dallas County. That judgment was also of Lu Thi Harris.

Dallas County records show the man has 13 capital murder charges and several illegal immigration holds. Meanwhile, in Collin County, records indicate he has five counts of capital murder, as well as two counts of attempted capital murder.
