Ricardo Muñoz and his wife Cecilia have been married for 12 years. Due to health problems, she cannot get pregnant. They tried almost all the alternatives and they still do not lower their arms. Always together, fighting life’s difficulties. However, today they live another reality. Some time ago they signed up for a call to adopt. They waited a long time for it to come true. Lautaro, 13 years old, came into their lives and they into his.
Solidarity marriage
Ricardo says that they live with great hope. “We make chocolates for Children’s Day, we go to hospitals at Christmas, I dress up as Santa Claus and we bring gifts to the interned children, all from the heart, without any political interest. The only help we receive is from our friends who always collaborate, ”he says.
One day they were asked why they were doing it and the first thing they got to answer was that “they felt good doing that and even one day a year they wanted to feel like the father and mother of hundreds of children.”
Last year, thanks to a fertilization treatment, Cecilia managed to get pregnant but unfortunately lost it soon after. Again the desire was gone but then they got up again.
When they called and reported Lauti to ask if they agreed, they did not hesitate for a second. They said yes without even knowing him. “We had to make a very long trip, two days, improvised and quite expensive.”
Lauti lived in a home in the Chaco and with the problem of the pandemic, they did not know if they would be able to travel.
With the help of family and friends, Ricardo and Cecilia left in their car to find what they wanted so much. “It was something very nice but it was not easy, we were waiting for each other.”
“This year we have to have a different Father’s Day…” (Ricardo gets excited and finds it difficult to continue). “Lauti has been with us for two months, it’s all very new. I don’t know how to do it, if I’m doing it right or wrong. There is no manual for this ”.
What Ricardo is sure of is that he will always try to do his best in order to be what Lauti needs.
“Now I’m enjoying everything I live with him: raging, challenging him, laughing, taking him to school, the most beautiful thing is going to see him play football, it’s exciting. And many things are going to come even better ”, adds the new dad.
“I’m happy and angry at the same time, I remember when I shared those things with my old man that I don’t have it either. Having this feeling and being able to form this family is a blessing from God to enjoy every day. We try to do our best by taking one of the best examples in the world, my old man ”, Ricardo points out, still getting emotional.
“I am going to spend my first Father’s Day celebrating it, a lot is expected and when you want to remember it, it seems that time passed very quickly. Today the three of us are here enjoying everything, what I feel at this moment is happiness ”.
The opportunity of a family
Many kids need the opportunity for a family, and there are many willing couples and married couples who need that opportunity. “Do not lose hope, God always has the exact moment for each one,” advises Ricardo.
