A Dacia Duster with a ‘bad’ look – Mondo Auto

Often Dacia Duster it is defined as the worker car for all seasons, because it has an affordable price, moves substantially on any terrain and has good practicality. It doesn’t have a burning performance, but it’s not its bread either. From the design point of view, the most recent versions are certainly more refined and pleasing, especially on the front. Few would dream of embracing the world of tuning with this car, as there are candidates with a decidedly superior starting pedigree. However, someone has tried, and the result, it must be admitted, stands out.

The Germans of Prior Design they have in fact prepared a body kit that transformed the Duster into a kind of suv superturismo, with an attractive appearance, at an overall affordable price of 3000 euros plus another 350 extra for a rear spoiler. The kit clearly transforms the car from the first to the last centimeter, even if the Dacia stylistic line remains recognizable in particular in profile.

The so-called ‘Widebody’ in Duraflex and fiberglass ensured a production that was all in all economical and that would require maintenance that is not too complex to sustain. The kit is valid for all Dacia Duster produced from 2018 onwards, including the most recent restyling as the body panels have not changed. Among the changes we immediately notice the generous wheel arches, the rear and front bumpers of greater width, the rear diffuser and the more attractive design at the front. From the standpoint of the set-up, the adaptation resulted in a lower suspension and larger diameter wheels. The brake calipers are also larger and red in color. A roll-bar was installed inside to achieve greater structural rigidity.

Not bad for Prior Design: this project is the first to involve the Dacia brand. Even if, with such modifications, the Duster completely loses its off-road component.
