A cultural center in the heart of Eindhoven is on fire

The fire started shortly after four o’clock on Thursday morning. The fire​​​​ rises in the roof, which is mainly made of wood.

“The floors and the attic are made of wood. So the fire is being fought from the outside, because there is a risk of the building collapsing. The building might collapse lost in total,” said a spokesman for the Brabant Zuidoost informed.

A lot of smoke anxiety
Both were taken out of the building by the fire brigade, but were not injured. The fire brigade has set up a water curtain to prevent the fire from spreading.

Despite the fire and heat, trains run on the track next to the Stroomhuis. “They drive at a low speed. The smoke goes in the other direction, so they can keep driving,” said the fire brigade.

The Stroomhuis is a famous cultural icon of the town where concerts, workshops and parties are held. There would have been another incident in the building on Wednesday night. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
