Escurolles. A crucial flea market for blood donation. Flea market and blood donation, an equation whose equality often tends to the leniency of time. In 2020, the relationship turned negative, under the Covid effect, so as to strain the finances of the association of blood donors of Escurolles and its region.
“The zero point in 2020 deprived the association of approximately € 1,000,” explains Claudette Perrin, president. When we know that a year of blood donation costs us 800 €, it would not take two or three years without money coming in ”.
Sunday, under the effect of acceptable sanitary constraints and the return of sunny days, 300 linear meters of flea market dotted around the village hall. A boon for blood donors who had stocked up on volunteers to ensure the various reception procedures, controls of sanitary measures and the setting up of the refreshment bar and the catering stand.
“We can count on an income of 1,000 €. This will relieve our finances and guarantee the maintenance of collections for which our costs are unchanged: around 600 € for sending letters informing members of the collection dates. There is also the departmental contribution, insurance, as well as snacks for which we have compensation from the French blood establishment (EFS). We are therefore close to 800 €. Fortunately, we benefit from a municipal subsidy of € 150, and that helps us to balance our accounts. And yes, sometimes the weather has played tricks on us and deprived us of this usual inflow of money ”.
For this end of 2021, the association can calmly consider its next collections on Wednesday September 29 and Tuesday November 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., village hall.
