Franck Ledru is a craftsman in Nogent-le-Rotrou, specializing in plumbing and electricity. This professional also developed in the Chartres region. It employs fifteen people. Mathieu Bourgeot, who claims to be apolitical, has two jobs: farmer in Theuville and owner of a repair company for hydraulic hoses on construction, agricultural, truck and industrial equipment in Chartres. The man does not yet know who to vote for. The two professionals speak of the second round of the Presidential 2022, between Emmanuel Macron (LREM) and Marine Le Pen (RN), with caution.
For the founder of the socially responsible Artisan association, the vote in the second round of the presidential election on Sunday will be without conviction.
“Between these two candidates, as a craftsman, I don’t really have a choice. The National Rally has never had a serious economic program. I have just found six apprentices at the Château des Vaux or in other structures supporting young people. They are all of foreign origin. Nevertheless, they are motivated and efficient despite some accessory language difficulties. »

Franck Ledru is categorical: “Nothing has changed in our daily lives despite the Covid-19 crisis. The construction sector has, in addition, other problems today such as the absence or shortage of raw materials, the sharp rise in prices, the extension of delivery times, the increase in the cost of fuel, in addition , therefore, the shortage of labor and the difficulty of recruitment, “he says.
The bosses of Eure-et-Loir facing the second round vote
“That said, all of this cannot be blamed on the current President of the Republic. The “whatever it takes” measures were going in the right direction, but we have the wrong view. First of all, these measures have allowed the survival of the national economy”, analyzes this entrepreneur.
“Erase the fantasy… valves without limits”
“Then, we must erase from minds the fantasy that the State has opened the floodgates without limits for the benefit of artisans and merchants. The main aid is spreading debts from the Covid and which will have to be re-examined in the current context. The war in Ukraine is too much. It is aggravating tensions on raw materials and energy prices. Customer demand for gas boilers has suddenly collapsed. Demand is now focused on aggregate boilers and heat pumps. »
On the other hand, Franck Ledru expects the future President of the Republic, whoever he is, on his commitment to the benefit of the environment:
“I want a historic ecological commitment that shows that France is still driving on issues that are essential for the future of Humanity. »

Mathieu Bourgeot, farmer in Theuville: “Between the two towers, Macron blushed his agricultural speech”
Mathieu Bourgeot, who claims to be apolitical, has two jobs: farmer in Theuville and owner of a repair company for hydraulic hoses on construction, agricultural, truck and industrial equipment in Chartres. The man does not yet know who to vote for.
“From an agricultural point of view, I am much more worried in the second round than in the first, because Emmanuel Macron is moving towards the voters of Mélenchon and Jadot. For a week, Emmanuel Macron has been moving away from the scientific part to go towards the dogmatic part. Its evolution on phytosanitary products and non-treatment areas is harder. Suddenly, he blushed his speech. He put a little too much watermelon in his cocktail, because the watermelon is green on the outside, but red on the inside,” says Mathieu Bourgeot, who farms 200 hectares in Theuville, near Villages-Vovéens.
According to him, the war in Ukraine is having a gigantic impact on agriculture with a scissors effect on the purchase price of fertilizers and seeds which increases.
“Liquid nitrogen has gone from €180 to €600 per tonne today. Rising selling prices are balancing the situation, but it won’t last. The Ukraine effect is faster than the Covid effect. They talk to us about energy and they ask us to fallow 4% while blocking biogas projects. If we release this sector, we will have the equivalent of one month of gas autonomy in France. »

Customers in difficulty
On his industrial activity in Chartres, the entrepreneur finds that the same Emmanuel Macron “stayed the course during the electoral campaign. His speech did not move too much. Regarding the Covid-19 crisis, I activated a State-guaranteed loan. It is too easy to say, after the fact, what to do in an exceptional situation. Emmanuel Macron did the best with the information he had and which changed all the time. I also benefited from partial activity and the government was able to quickly put it in place to support businesses. This allowed me to reassure myself and regain hope. »
premium Weakened by the war, French companies fear not being able to repay their Covid loan
Mathieu Bourgeot has noticed, for two weeks, that some of his clients are putting themselves under the protection of the commercial court. “Our quotes have a shelf life of 48 hours. Stainless steel and rubber have seen their prices soar. All my suppliers are predicting a 20% price increase. Since the beginning of the year, the increase is more than 40%, in addition to uncertainties about deliveries. »
Accuracy. The few local bosses able to defend the economic program of Marine Le Pen were more hesitant and declined our invitation to express their analysis in favor of the economic project of the candidate of the National Rally.
