(df). He was the man in the Neuried land registry for 39 years, she was active in the Protestant church choir for more than 40 years: Artur and Gerda Bhn are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary today, Saturday, in Ichenheim.
Artur Bhn, who grew up with a younger sister, attended elementary school in Ichenheim from 1954 to 1962 and began an administration apprenticeship on the day after his confirmation on April 2, 1962 at the then independent municipality of Ichenheim. In 1972 he attended the course for senior administration at the administration school in Karlsruhe. When the municipality of Neuried was established in 1973 as part of the municipal reform in the state, he took on the post of land registry clerk in the Neuried land registry, which he held until the land registry was dissolved in 2012. Artur Bhn was also engaged in the fire brigade for 44 years, was first secretary, then department commander for Ichenheim and eleven years commander of the Neuried fire brigade. He and his wife Gerda were also the co-founders of the fire brigade theater group, which many older people in the village still fondly remember.
Gerda Bhn grew up in Ichenheim with a younger sister on her parents’ farm. She attended elementary school from 1958 to 1966 and – as was often the case back then – had to help her parents’ farm and the business of her grandfather Johann Schnebel (“Schnebel Schang”) during her school days. As part of her home economics studies, she stressed that she was “allowed” to go to an agricultural training company in Pforzheim for six months – she still raves about it today. Meanwhile, music and singing were born into her. She sang in the Protestant church choir for more than 40 years, until a serious operation no longer allowed her. Ehmann Artur also loves music, he has been playing the tuba in the Offenburg trombone choir since 1975.
Gerda Bhn was also the childminder for two boys whose mother worked as a teacher in Ichenheim. One of these two “boys”, as she calls them, still has a close relationship with his “aunt Gerda”.
In 1972 Gerda Bhn gave birth to their son Rolf, and in 1976/77 the couple built their single-family home. For years she has been enjoying the weekly “aunt’s day” with her four grandparents and nieces, which has been put on hold due to Corona. The congratulations from the community and local government are also sent to the couple by post instead of in person.
To person: Artur Bhn was born in Ichenheim in 1947. He worked 39 years in the land registry of the municipality of Neuried. Elsa Bhn, née Stckler, was born in 1952. The couple has a son.
