A coup! Impressionism collection by Hasso Plattner now as a permanent exhibition in Potsdam

To a certain extent, the Potsdam exhibition reveals the secret of the Museum Barberini’s success: because the Hasso Plattner collection lends generously worldwide, the museum has been able to acquire international loans for the previous temporary exhibitions and thus become a crowd-puller as a young institution.

The collection of SAP co-founder Hasso Plattner was created in just twenty years. The 34 paintings by Claude Monet alone are unique outside of France. The museum’s founder’s private collection with over a hundred works by French Impressionists and Neo-Impressionists has now moved to the Barberini Museum as a permanent exhibition.

The exhibition is a coup, says art critic Simone Reber in SWR2.
