The Government of Canada has introduced a temporary tax relief package that aims to help citizens pay their bills during the holiday season.
The plan announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau includes the reduction of the federal goods and services tax (GST) for the period of December 14-February 15, writes Money.bg.
Discounted items include children’s duffel bags, clothes, toys, disposable nappies, food in pretzels and even Christmas presents, cakes and books. The measure will cover the financial burden of the households as they prepare for the holidays, the ministry said.
In addition to the relief of the income tax and the restoration of the $250 tax in the form of vouchers to Canadians who in 2023 they won less than $150 thousand.
Approximately 18.7 million people worldwide will benefit from this measure.
The total value of the initiatives planned by the liberal government is estimated at $6.3 billion. $1.6 million was earmarked for the reduction of the value-added tax, and $4.7 million was allocated for taxes.
The tax dressing comes in response to the challenges faced by Canadians, related to the continued rise in the prices of everyday goods. The government claims that the citizens will see immediate financial relief without causing additional inflation.
The Prime Minister, Tyudu, has signed that although the cabinet, influenced by him, cannot count the polyps directly, it can put more money in the hands of all the citizens in this It’s been a difficult period for her.
This initiative is also part of the broader strategy for coping with the economic pressure, especially in the pre-holiday season. In view of the looming elections in 2025, some critics are allocating this code as a strategy for those in power, who will be able to dismantle the gate to their homes beaters. The amendments must be voted by the parliament before they come into force.
