Visa: acceptance resumed
A notice from the State Administration of immigration, underlines that the resumption of acceptance and approval of ordinary passport applications from Chinese citizens for travel outside the country will begin on January 8, 2023. As the approval processing for Hong Kong residents for tourism and business purposes will also resume.
It also decided to undertake the issuance of entry and exit permits from China and border control areas.
The restoration of the service relating to applications for ordinary visas for residence permits and residence permits by foreigners. And accelerated procedures may be requested, in case of urgent need, as announced.
Port visas can be issued by the established services, in addition, a 24/7/144-hour visa-free transit policy and the issuance of temporary entry permits will be applied.
Services related to the processing of entry and exit of passengers and border residents via ports and land routes will be restored.
The treatment of passengers and cruise passengers in selected ports will resume service, as well as express channels and nearby ports in the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao.
Visa: various facilitation measures
Several facilitation measures will be implemented, including green runways at airports for major cargo flights, express channels at land ports and immigration checkpoints for vehicles carrying essential supplies, and an online individual application portal for boarding codes for immigration inspection used in seaports.
