A cosplay festival took place in Tallinn | Culture

Over the weekend, lovers of cosplay – that is, costume play – gathered in the capital’s Cauldron of Culture for a festival dedicated to Asian culture and anime.

J-Tsoon’s Flaming Pumpkin Festival caters to many different subcultures, but focuses on Japanese animation, cosplay, and K-pop. Cosplay artists have transformed themselves, for example, into characters from anime, comics, films and video games, Actual Camera reports.

Some took weeks or even months to create their costume. And someone decided to try themselves in this role for the first time in their life at the festival. And he came in with his trump cards, so to speak.

“I’m cosplaying Emily from the cartoon “Corpse Bride” by Tim Burton. Initially it was planned that it would be a Halloween costume. But my friend invited me, and I decided why not try myself here. That’s why I’m participating in the cosplay masquerade. I hope win something,” Nana said.

This is not the first time the event has been held, and the organizers say that interest in it is only growing every year. And every time people come up with more and more interesting costumes. However, there are also timeless classics.

“There are, of course, such eternal cosplays. For example, Shrek is very popular from year to year. From Japanese animation, these are the characters from “Magic Battle” (Jujutsu Kaisen). And I even saw several cosplays based on “Spring” by Oscar Lutz,” – noted presenter Dmitry.
