The City Council of A Coruña will pay tribute to surfer Tito ‘El Viejo’, who died at age 70 on November 27, with a plaque on the Surfers Fountain.
The surfers collective Sea wolf and the City Council will remember Roberto García Fariña, who is considered the father of surfing in the city.
“At 70 years old, he was the oldest of those who surfed the waves on the Orzán beach,” recalled the mayor, Ines Rey, who considered “very necessary this tribute to a person very loved by the sports community of the city and who has already become a legend of surfing.”
The plaque will be placed in the Surfers Fountain, which was filled with candles and flowers after the death of Tito ‘El Viejo’, who was surfing a few meters from it.
