The mayor of A Coruña, Xulio Ferreiro, hopes that the Prezos Commission of the Xunta will approve as soon as possible the reduction of the urban bus fare to one euro and twenty cents. The Tram Company has presented allegations, and so far it has not made public assessments of the first reduction in the price of urban public transport in A Coruña in the last 24 years. In Xulio Ferreiro’s opinion, it is necessary to readjust the rate.
The Popular Party considers that the local government has put on the table a reduction without prior agreement with the concessionaire company and with the map of lines without reorganizing.
The BNG tells the Atlantic Tide that the reduction in ten cents of the bus ticket is not the solution to the problems of collective public transport. It also reminds him of his promises to rearrange the lines and the bus lane.
In addition to the reduction of the general ticket and the bonobús, the proposal of the Coruñés Council includes free admission for children under 14 years of age and for all transfers. The local government board will approve the new rates this week.
