The Ministry of Defense in A Coruña opens a new headquarters, the old Naval Command building, on Avenida do Porto. The adaptation works have been completed since September 2015 but a complicated two-year transfer from the Defense facilities in Santo Domingo next to the Capuchin church, has delayed the inauguration of this property, one of the architectural jewels of the city for many. The Ministry trusts that next year the budget will be confirmed for the construction of 5 F110 Frigates in the Ferrol shipyards.
Defense manages in Galicia a heritage of 226 properties, 15 buildings and 579 military homes. As of October of this year, it has 1,362 military personnel in different situations. The formal act was attended by a wide representation of the Army and Navy and also political and judicial.
