The Government finalizes the contracting of the dredging of the Ría do Burgo, after the authorization from the European Union to the reallocation of funds to undertake the expected cleaning of the seabed. To start the file, a report from the Xunta is necessary. The central executive urges the Consellería do Mar to prepare it as soon as possible for, once received, to be able to process the economic file, facing the tender of the work. The Secretary of State for the Environment, Hugo Morán, and the Government Delegate, Javier Losada, have addressed this issue in a meeting at the Ministry.
The Xunta must certify the full availability of the land and confirm that there is no concession or activity in the estuary in the part that will be affected by dredging. The cleaning and removal of the mud that covers the estuary will be financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the ERDF, as requested by the Ministries for the Ecological Transition and Finance last year.
