Galicia This Tuesday he faces his first meeting of the clinical committee since the relief of the restrictions was decreed last week. The experts who advise the Xunta on the management of the pandemic meet again to update the map of limitations due to Covid-19 in Galicia with two important novelties compared to last week.
And it is that the community faces this new conclave of the clinical committee with all councils below 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days and, in addition, all health areas have managed, together, to lower the cumulative incidence of 250 cases in 14 days from which a territory is considered to be under extreme risk from Covid-19.
From A Coruña to Vigo
This situation opens the door to areas of A Coruña-Cee, Ferrol and Pontevedra-O Salnés to go down one more step in the level of restrictions until it equates with those of Vigo-O Morrazo, Lugo-Monforte-A Mariña, Ourense-Verín-O Barco de Valdeorras and Santiago-Barbanza. In these, free mobility between councils is guaranteed, something that for example in those of A Coruña, Ferrol or Pontevedra is only allowed as long as the borders of these areas are not crossed.
In addition, in the case of jumping to the next level of restrictions, the catering establishments of these three health districts could also reopen their interior with a capacity of up to 30% and its inhabitants will be able to play sports with up to three other people who do not live together.
The ball on a possible equalization of the level of restrictions in the whole of Galicia is now on the table of the Xunta de Galicia and the clinical committee before the decrease in the accumulated incidence to 14 days. This has been reduced to 225.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the case of health area of A Coruña, which continues to mark the highest figure in the entire community by surpassing Pontevedra (196.6) and Ferrol (187,6).
Below the barrier of 150 cumulative incidence cases are Vigo (129,4), Lugo (124,2), Santiago (111) and Ourense, which remains the health area with the least circulation of the coronavirus with a cumulative incidence of 74.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
“Very great risk”
In addition, all health areas have also managed to fall below 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the accumulated of the last seven days. Own President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, acknowledged last week that this parameter had gained importance when monitoring the circulation of Covid-19 in the different territories and is emerging, together with hospital pressure, as another of the key indicators when deciding future relaxations of measurements.
A coruña again registers the highest data in this section, with 98.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 7 days despite falling below the 100 barrier in which it had been installed since January, while Ourense marks the lowest data (28.2). Between the two are Pontevedra (87,3), Vigo (57,2), Ferrol (54), Santiago (47.5) and Lugo (46,2).
One of the members of the clinical committee, Dr. Jose Luis Muinos He assured Europa Press on Monday that “it would be rash” to start a new phase of de-escalation in the community as a whole. After warning that Galicia is still in a situation of «very great risk», has stressed that “prudence has to mark all our activities.” In addition, he predicts that “many measures came to stay for many years.”
