Mayor Xulio Ferreiro this weekend presided over a tribute to the figure of María Pita and to women defenders of the city with a call for real equality between genders.
Ferreiro has called for the commitment of public institutions to promote equality policies and against gender violence. The event took place with a stop at the María Pita House Museum and ended with a floral offering in the square in front of the Town Hall.
