A fire has occurred in a room at the Hotel Riazor in A Coruña, on Avenida de Pedro Barrié de la Maza, specifically on the ninth floor of the facilities. The fire has been controlled by the hotel’s own fire-fighting device and the firefighters have taken the fire under control. The room was occupied but no personal injury has occurred, according to the service against fire.
At ten minutes to twelve the notice was received at the emergency center. The fire started in the mattress of a room where there were clients at the time. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the fire.
It was a private person who alerted Emergencias 112 Galicia. From there, the events were notified to Urxencias Sanitarias de Galicia-061, the A Coruña Firefighters, the Local Police and Civil Protection.
Rescue in O Portiño
In addition, an elderly man has been rescued from the rocks in the Millennium area, around eleven in the morning. Given the difficulties he had to climb because he sprained an ankle, he called 061, which, in turn, notified the fire brigade. They rescued him by taking him on a stretcher to the promenade where he was treated by an ambulance.
